GERMAN RIOTS
'BETTER THAN
FRENCH'
SAYS BRUSSELS
The European Commission tonight praised Germany for ensuring orderly civil disturbance.

A spokesman in Brussels said: "Compared with French riots, German riots are very well organised. They always start on time and are very thorough.

"French riots are chaotic and unpredictable. Sometimes they will burn down a whole factory, and other nights only a few cars are damaged.

"You wouldn't buy a French car, even if you could find one that wasn't burnt out, so why take part in a French riot when there are much nicer German ones just over the border?"
