Good news for anyone suffering at the probosci of Hong Kong's large and hungry mosquitoes......
Scientists in London have created one with glowing testicles in a bid to stamp out malaria and dengue fever, reports Sky News.
The male mosquitoes are genetically modified to make them infertile so when they mate with females, no larvae are produced.
The males' sperm has been turned fluorescent green so they can be easily distinguished from female mosquitos when the insects are examined under ultraviolet light.
The males are then sterilised and released into the wild, causing a crash in the local mosquito population within weeks.
The team of researchers from Imperial College, London University, says the technique is more effective than spraying whole areas with insect killer.
Chief researcher Andrea Crisanti said: "Unlike insecticides, sterile males target only the species you want to attack."
Only the female mosquito bite spreads malaria to humans, but transmission is possible even when the females have been sterilised.
This is why the team decided to target male mosquitoes to wipe out local insect populations, helping to stamp out the disease in the process.
Now we need them to start work on the infamous Lamma centipedes to produce one with soft rubber jaws.
